Why Brasshour

What Sets This Workshop Apart

One Watchmaker, One Watch

Your piece is handled by a single technician throughout. No handoffs between staff, no lost context between stages.

Documented at Every Stage

Written notes accompany every watch through the workshop. You receive a clear summary of what was done before collection.

Nothing Proceeds Without Consent

On complex restorations, scope and parts decisions are confirmed with you before work begins. No surprises at collection.

Vintage References Welcome

Older movements and obscure references are a routine part of the work here. Sourcing period-correct parts is something we plan for from the outset.

Conveniently Located in Chiang Mai

The workshop sits on Tha Phae Road, a straightforward visit from the old city, Nimmanhaemin, or the Night Bazaar area.

Honest Assessments, Clear Pricing

Costs are quoted before work starts. If a job turns out to be simpler than expected, the price reflects that.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked

How do I know which service my watch needs?
A brief look at the watch usually tells us what is needed. If you are unsure, bring it in or send a clear photo with a description of the issue. We will give you an honest read before you commit to anything.
How long does a typical repair take?
Crown and gasket work generally completes within three to five working days. Dial refinishing takes one to two weeks depending on the condition. Full collector restorations vary widely — from three weeks to several months when sourcing rare parts. We give a realistic estimate at the assessment stage.
Do you work on all brands and movement types?
We handle most Swiss and Japanese movements, including manual-wind, automatic, and certain quartz calibres. Very modern in-house movements from certain marques may fall outside our scope — we will say so honestly at the assessment.
Can I see a cost estimate before leaving my watch?
Yes. We discuss a price range after the initial assessment. Work begins only after you have confirmed the scope in writing. If something unexpected appears during the service, we contact you before proceeding.
What happens if you cannot source a part for an older watch?
We discuss options with you — whether that is a wait while we search further, a compatible alternative, or returning the watch as found. The decision is always yours.
Is it possible to ship my watch to your workshop?
We accept watches sent by registered, insured courier from elsewhere in Thailand. For international shipments, please contact us first to discuss documentation and insurance requirements. We do not accept liability for transit damage.
